BACKGROUND
orange juice was a passion project that was crafted in early 2024, but had been in the creative works for years prior. jaylee marchese, our editor in chief, was a fresh high school graduate & wanted a medium for her passion & love for poetry - thus, orange juice was born!
the first volume of orange juice was published in 2024 & featured more than fifteen writers, received over five hundred submissions, & reached more than one thousand readers! it also raised nearly two hundred dollars & gave us the opportunity to showcase our editorial & graphic abilities. it was a huge success & something we take pride in as part of our literary history.
following the release of our first volume & nearing the second release, the magazine went defunct & we took a hiatus for several months before relaunching in august 2025.

orange juice is an online-only, digital & quarterly poetry journal that features writers of poetry spanning all formats, styles, shapes, sizes, and more. our one goal is to bring together authors from all corners of the world into one collective where we can showcase many different voices and encompass the full human experience. to sum it up - we love poetry & want to celebrate it in all its forms.
we welcome submissions from writers both published & emerging - we want new voices & known voices equally. we don't care if it's your first real poem or your eight hundredth - we just like good sh*t. each reading period & submission call is open for all poems with a vague overarching theme, which writers are encouraged to interpret in their own creative ways. we also encourage both writers & readers to come as they are to our journal.
we read work & publish new volumes four times per year. read new work from us & our featured authors in march, june, september, & december!

MASTHEAD
orange juice is a one-woman show ran by jaylee m. marchese, our editor in chief! she is the head of social media, marketing, editing, submission reading, volume releases, and everything else that orange juice runs on!
jaylee m. marchese is a writer from the southern united states & has had work published across the web since she was fifteen years old, some of her most notable publications being rattle magazine, pictura journal, & more! her hobbies include to-do list making, playing video games (sims 4 specifically), spending time with her partner, & watching video essays about niche topics on youtube.
